Ash
Light in colour, sometimes with a yellowish tint. It is very dense (commonly used to make baseball bats).
Douglas Fir
Indigenous to British Columbia, boasts prominent vertical grain. Develops a rich orange over time. Has a medium density.
Walnut
Has a rich dark chocolate colour and different grain patter depending on the cut. Has a fairly high density.
Maple
Light in colour, high density rating.
Hemlock
Indigenous to British Columbia, has an incredible golden colour with straight consistent grain (when quarter-sawn). It is not very dense.
White Oak
Has been a popular furniture wood for centuries, noted for its durability and beautiful grain.
Walnut (quarter-sawn veneer)
Beautiful straight consistent grain. Found in solid wood, however generally used for making veneer.
